when i was going on my snapshot spree to find images to mess with i took a few pictures of the insides of garbage cans. i haven't done as much with these as i have with most of the others, but i think that some of the more bizarre imagery can still be found in this humble little folder. trash is the muse of many great men. john waters, jerry springer, scott and trey parker, seth mcfarlane, kevin smith... i could go on. of course i doubt few people would call these guys truly great men, but look into our history, past and present. our forefathers, our ministers, our leaders. it takes a federal investigation for them to come clean (well to show us how dirty they can and have really been). the former start out there, and then you can get to whatever makes them worthwhile, though i have to say that springer strikes me less so than the others. so i'm starting with the filth, and looking deep into the shapes and forms to create something interesting, even beautiful in some cases. even if no one else finds much use in these i am glad i have gone there, and plan to go there again. trash is a valuable commodity when it gets into the right hands. and having worked with it may allow me to join the ranks of some of the dirtiest cartoonists and filmmakers of our time. i can only hope.
