| I went to school for Fine Art riding on the Mechanical Engineering train. All throughout community college I thought of myself as an engineer, but when I got a scholarship with no strings attached I changed my major to Fine Art and never looked back. (Okay I still glance back occassionally, but what can I do now?) My work has appeared in the Ivory Tower e-zine, the two pieces being "Flesh, the Futile Folds" and "Existence is Futile" I have always been a comic collector, but once Sam Kieth's "Maxx" came on the scene I was a one artist sort of guy. He is my obsession as far as style and content. Now I work at an accounting office to make ends meet, hoping upon hope that my fine and/or graphic art catches someones attention. (Preferrably someone with a great deal of money and their own comic company, fantasy rpg, ccg, or some other game represented by a group of letters. I am interested in hearing from anyone interested in my work though.) Bricks have caught my attention recently and about half of the images from this year has been a direct result of a single brick. Now there are some nachos, woodgrains, and stumps. My psychedelic and abstract work is almost exclusively derived from such images except for those that have been combined with drawings or are drawings themselves. I have no objection to my pieces appearing any placeor in any way as long as it is not displayed in a way so as to demean the image/image maker(my work/me). Within each image I create, many more can often be seen. That's how I started working with the bricks. I see images in nearly every textural surface and part of me just wanted to see them come to fruition. and no, illegal substances are not even remotely connected to this work. In highschool nearly everyone did think I was a stoner, and I'm starting to see why. I can see things that many around me could or would not see, even if they were blown out of their mind on acid or heroine or nutmeg tea. |
